10% of all sales from the airport and from the sale of wings are donated to angel flight west, and their partner organization, angel flight northeast, to help people, like those pictured and introduced below, heal.
2 year-old Macy H. from Great Falls, MT must travel to the Casey Eye Institute at OHSU in Portand, OR for her specialized treatment for glaucoma. Multiple trips to treatment and follow-ups have exhausted the family’s resources, but thanks to Angel Flight West, Macy is able to continue her care.
Christina H. from Kennewick, WA must travel to her treatment in Seattle weekly and transportation is not covered by insurance. Her mom – a single working parent – also has Christina’s siblings to care for in addition to a full work schedule. Angel Flight West is a huge help and makes it possible for Christina to fly roundtrip in the same day.
AFW pilot Tom Tormey flies campers to Camp Korey – a non-profit camp for children with serious medical conditions – from Portland, OR to Everett, WA. Thanks to the generosity of pilots like Tom, these campers have the opportunity to attend summer camp.
7 year-old Mary S. is a patient at Seattle Children’s Hospital undergoing a 2nd stem cell transplant for Leukemia. This is her 2nd battle with cancer and looking at a long stay for continues treatment. She was approved for a respite in her treatment for the Thanksgiving holiday, but due to her compromised immune system, she is unable to fly commercially and would not be able to make the long drive home to Northern California. But thanks to AFW pilots Tom McGrath and Mel Rushton, Mary was flown roundtrip with her family and were able to spend some time at home.
