how to give a baby grant

Posted on Categories giving
want to direct $3,000 to your
favorite non-profit organization?
here’s how.
step 1:

post a picture of a lit glassybaby to instagram or facebook, and nominate a deserving nonprofit. in your post, tell us (in 150 words or less) why the non-profit you’re nominating deserves a little more light. make sure to tag your post with #glassybabygrants.

step 2:

glassybaby will review all nominations and select the top-three posts based on likes each month. the top-three will be posted  the top “vote-getter” will receive a glassybaby grant of $3,000, second place will receive $2,000, and third place will earn $1,000 towards its cause.

we are giving our community more power
to choose which non-profits will receive
donations from the glassybaby white light fund,
we will give three “baby grants” per month,
of $1,000, $2,000, and $3,000
to non-profits suggested and chosen
by community members like you.
all you need to do to nominate an organization is:
tag a friend in a post, and
the two simple steps:
post on instagram or on our glassybaby facebook page
about a glassybaby gift, with the hashtag
both giver and receiver must post with the hashtag.
the person who receives the glassybaby
should post a picture of it, preferably lit.
the person who gave the glassybaby gift
must also post with the hashtag.
this post may simply tag the recipient of the gift and include the proposal, described below.
(both giver and receiver must post)
(it is best to tag each other)
(either platform is fine)
(email works, too: see below)
propose, before the 21st of the month,
a non-profit organization that aligns with our giving mission
(to help people, animals, and the planet heal)
that should receive a baby grant.

non-profit must be aligned with glassybaby’s mission to help people, animals and the planet heal.
all nominations must be posted by the 21st of each month.

some notes:

proposals should be 150 words or less, and should describe:
– how the organization’s work furthers our giving mission,
– an example of the organization’s impact, and
– your own relationship to the organization.
-if you are not on social media, then you and the receiver of the
glassybaby gift may send your proposal in an email to three of your friends,
as well as
and your grant proposals will be considered eligible.
we will post your proposal on our facebook page.
– you may submit a proposal every month,
provided that you follow both steps each month.
– glassybaby may post any and all proposals submitted, in any capacity, for any purpose.
– email with questions or suggestions.
(this is currently an experiment, we are open to any suggestions about the instructions or process)
thank you.
we can’t wait to read your proposals.
no purchase necessary.

  1. I would like to nominate and vote for (Talk It Up Foundation) to be the beneficiary of this well-deserving donation. I will purchase my glassybaby for the mother of a sex trafficking victim here in Seattle. Talk it up TV is doing a story on this mother. Every time she lights the candle in her glassybaby she will remember all of the people who came alongside her to support her and her daughter. Thankfully her daughter is home safe now, but the long lasting effects of what happened continue. Talk It Up TV is dedicated to helping mother and daughter get counseling and find Hope for the future. You can find out more about this at

  2. Just another reason I live glassybaby! I’d love to see a “cheetah” glassybaby -gold with black spots and have it benefit Cheetah Conservation Fund. Only 7,000 cheetahs left.

  3. Thank you for expanding your mission.i gave my best friend silver lining for Christmas. Loved helping elephants!!

  5. I have found this whole thing a little confusing. I submitted my proposal for Ladybug House but cannot find it for people to “like”.
I hope we are in the run for the grant. This is an amazing local cause. Please let me know if there is anything more I should or could do. Thank you.
Love love love my glassybabys. ❤️❤️
