We received an absolutely eloquent letter from Austin...here is an exerpt to share with you:
"My family recently spent time in Seattle, where we used to live. My good friend gifted me with a glassybaby, which has come back to Austin with me. I love its beauty, connection to the place I love and especially the enclosure explaining its story.
Late in Fall I send my friends and family gifts as a way to begin the season of love and hope. It's always small, usable, significant and heartfelt. Glassybaby spoke to me as a perfect way to give and spread a certain peace......I thought this would really focus our wishes, putting these beautiful lights in our windows. Peace begets peace."
Thank you, Diane, for the beautiful letter. I had to smile at the combination of descriptors: "small, usable, significant and heartfelt." Well said.
Other news...Cardinal Glass opened a plant in our fair state. A swanky local event company named Two Downtown bedazzled the opening gala with 200 glassybaby in the firey palette. Colors included: Seattle Sunset, Tang, Navel, Ripe etc... A great addendum to the party...the plant manager's wife called after the party to order 6 Seattle Sunset. She stipulated, sentimentally, that they must be the glassybaby from the event. I asked her: "Is it sort of akin to Elvis touching the napkin?" One word answer: "Yes."
On a final note...we must welcome Kobi our new shipping agent. Know that your orders are in good hands...He is a fabulous drummer.
Until next time....Nicola
