O.K. this week is typical glassybaby melange. First I received great feedback from last week's blog in a comment that just broke me into a smile. This is what Kelly wrote:
"Here is a tip for those who like to travel with their glassybaby...purchase some children's water wings! Just place the glassybaby in the middle of the water wing and inflate and place between clothes in your suitcase. This provides an ideal cushion for your glassybaby when traveling!"
Great idea. Thanks Kelly.
Then... a loving mother and fan of glassybaby, sent us a link to Youtube. Her gorgeous daughter, long out of water wings, created a beautiful video which blended dance, the music of Kate Bush and, you guessed it, glassybaby. Visualize this...a wonderful gentleman in our store carrying a gorgeously upholstered, fringed, pillow...interesting juxtaposition, which he promptly explained. He was buying his wife 6 glassybaby for her birthday and using the pillow to land just the right color. Craftily, he smuggled the 'fringe' out of the house for 'operation glassybaby'...here is the hilarious kicker...not more than 10 minutes in the car with the pillow...his cell phone rang: "Honey, I think the grand kids have hidden one of our pillows somewhere." Priceless.
On a final note...one of our treasured customers and now neighbor, came into the store with 2 of her kids to pick up a glassybaby. She is a 12 month club member, thanks to her stylish husband. She waived the boxing of her newly acquired "Beach" glassybaby. Immediately, her daughter Isabelle, gave her the incredulous, long note: "Mommmm." So, Mom self corrected and said:"Oh...I mean we will take a box." I learned that the kids ingeniously tape glassybaby boxes together to create homemade 'habitrail' for their hamsters.I love it.
