Last week Bernie Quineau turned 95 on Bastille Day. His name does not belie his french origins. I blogged about his birthday celebration...a wonderful occasion. He read last weeks blog prompted by his friend Susan Moffet who bought him the very frenchy Blue Bird glassybaby. Susan also attended the birthday party. Not to recap too much...however what I learned must be shared. Bernie donned a costume for the party...nothing other than the Energizer Bunny, complete with a pinkish drum. A fragment from our email exchange...his Blue Bird glassybaby is missing...it must be in the box traveling back to Pittsburgh where he lives...in with the bunny suit and drum. I just love knowing this; and it reminds me that life is wonderfully better than fiction.
This I love...weeks ago parents came in to our store for an important glassybaby purchase. They shared with me that their post graduate darling daughter had moved to San Francisco. Sweet mom was taking a condo warming present, a set of 5 gorgeous glassybaby...to light the winter of their daughter's first San Francisco summer. I commented on this beautiful, generous gift. As the father was not included in the travel mission...he retorted: "The glassybaby are the least of my worries." We are honored to be included in these wonderful rights of passage.
Jeanine...in her infinite dog wisdom, bought a large dog bowl for glassybaby, which is placed right by our front door...with filtered water. She also acquired a large box of multi colored milk bones. Pudge, a frequent dog visitor, already knows to sit patiently, seemingly eternally, in front of the cabinet that holds the milk bones. If you visit our store with pooch...know that we have a stash.
It is a rainy Seattle Saturday...we are off to a dumpling party...Until Next Time, Nicola

Hi Nicola,
I came in today and said that I read the blog. I love my new glassybabies! Thanks so much. Have a great time in Scotland.
