Elisa Pupko, our office manager and die hard Harry Potter fan braved the labyrinthine, midnight queue at the University Bookstore on Friday night (July 20th) to purchase the newest and last in the series of Harry Potter novels. Her transaction was complete at approximately 12:17am and she is currently on page 503. On Monday she sadly reported a Harry Potter sin to us, that she witnessed...some people with whom she had queued...purchased the book and read the last page first...atrocity. I love her reverence. Oh, and Elisa with a lightening bolt, emblazoned on her forehead, was photographed and made it into the Saturday Seattle Times ( her puppy Zoka, emblazoned with a furry lightning bolt was next to her in the photo.)
You might wonder where this is going in terms of a glassybaby blog entry? A lightning bolt idea...why not have a Harry Potter Party at glassybaby next to our fiery furnaces? Of course you could light a potion of evocative glassybaby color. Something like: Roots, Worn Leather, Kermit, Pebble and Wet Dog. Just a thought.
Tomorrow I leave for a long anticipated trip to Scotland with my sweet little family. I will miss glassybaby; however there are some indicators that my 2 week hiatus is needed. To explain...part of my job is to discuss color. It is an esoteric language that I love. I feel that I have developed and borrowed a fairly acceptable nomenclature. I have standards...for example I will not describe a glassybaby color as "yummy." However, just last week I described a quatro of purple glassybaby as "cobblerish" (as in berry cobbler.)
Bon Voyage. I will post while I am gone. Until Next Time...Nicola
