I love this. In the twilight of our store hours as my car was on a vector to my baby's daycare last week...Jeanine (Operations Manager extrordinaire) experienced this in the store...A three generation customer parcel entered our store...grandmother, mother and son. MaryHelen, the loving grandmama was on a precious family visit from Southern Pines, North Carolina...on the 'grandson express.' The glassybaby mission?... choose 3 glassybaby to travel home with reminding grandma of her grandson. It was an earnest endeavor...so sweet. What was chosen to follow:
- For his hazel eyes... a Jeffery glassybaby
- For his brown hair...a Bedford Brown glassybaby
- For his fair, 1 year old skin... a Lace glassybaby
Jeanine explained further that intermittent trips were taken into the daylight outside of our front door...raising different glassybaby up to the figure of this young boy...just to get the closest color match. Lovely. And I am struck that the color combination is... fabulous.
In the same realm of color choice, another sweet store anecdote. Two friends visited us with the express mission to buy a joint glassybaby gift. Pink was the color. From the myriad pink choices...one was definitively plucked from our shelf. Both women agreed it was the perfect hue of pink for the recipient. I mentioned that they had chosen Tutu. They looked at each other and broke simultaneously into smile. The gift was going to a ballet teacher...color serendipity. There are no glassybaby accidents.
Until Next Time...Nicola
