And another thing about the holiday party was the squash bisque...sublime.
A few holiday anecdotes...the timing of the Siberian blizzard has been absolutely crazy. Steve's car has turned into a glassybaby employee shuttle and we have managed to keep 3 stores open and get hundreds of glassybaby in the mail box. Thank you so much, for those of you, who braved the storms to find us...heroic.
Yesterday we were graced by a visit from Celia Evans (glassybaby life-er.) She entered our Madrona store with her three delightful children and the newest edition to the family, 8 week old, chocolate lab, "Mele." The inspiration for Mele's name?..."Merry Christmas" in Hawaiian. What a treat to meet doggie...sweet, chocolaty...faintly skunky...we all melted.
I was able to skitch up the hill in my car during lunch yesterday. The mission was to buy some Christmas provisions at the food epicenter Trader Joes. As I hurriedly grabbed a cart...I felt that there was time to wipe my hands and cart handle with the purell wipes provided. Since there was not an apparent volunteer wipe, I delved into the plastic cannister with my finger only to realize that my finger was stuck...really, ouchy stuck. I began to laugh nervously. Every clandestine tug made me yelp inside. Finally...visualizing paramedics with surgical scissors...I extricated my red finger and shopped. That is my amusing holiday anecdote.
Have a wonderful, warm, jubilant holiday from all of us at glassybaby.
Until Next Time, Nicola
