Lovely Madrona has been swagged and glistened with green Evergreen boughs and strands of holiday lights. It is a charming destination for a holiday shopping stroll. If you plan carefully you can round it out with a cupcake or perhaps an eggnog latte (but you are not allowed to have both...just kidding.)
If you are local...highlight your calendar with this date... Saturday December 13th. Our excellent and ever talented glassblowers will hold a holiday sale with their own inspired works of art, including: jewelry, glass art, ceramics etc. etc.. It will be a harmonic convergence of glassybaby, refreshments, music and original works of art for sale and made by our finest. The details:
Date: Saturday December 13th
Time: 10am-5pm
Location: 3406 E Union...our Madrona flagship store.
Another harmonic convergence occurred on Capitol Hill involving Poppy glassybaby. I love that the name of the main character in this convergence tale is Madzy. Here goes...a great customer, Madzy, had the sweet notion to dine at the new Seattle hot spot restaurant called Poppy, of Herb Farm lineage. She stowed two glassybaby in her satchel, an inspired, surprise gift for her friend, the owner of Poppy. It just so happened that Lee, dining at the adjacent table, was able to witness the bequeathing of the glassybaby. The delightful twist?...Lee was dining with her niece named Poppy. Harmonic.
I can always count on the week to gift me with a sweet store encounter. We have a wonderful customer (painter by passion) who happens to understand the eternal beauty of Great Oak glassybaby, my favorite color. She deftly plucked Great Oak from the shelf and began the lighting ceremony. I pointed out that random black 'veins' appear in this color, not always seen as a virtue; however, this was sheer beauty to her (an opinion after my heart.) I traveled to the back, climbed upon our ladder, where luckily Great Oak glassybaby were on the top shelf. With a bird's eye view, I found her three prominently veined Great Oak. Wonderful, they found her.
Lastly, it is joyous to me, how glassybaby, almost like visiting the Santa Hut or hearing the Carol Singers...is on the holiday radar. Our sweet customers seem to exhale as they enter our store: 'Ahhh the perfect gift.' Welcome and thanks for streaming through our door. The same 'ahhh' emanates from our web orders...thanks for your streaming orders as well.
Until Next Time, Nicola
