Coco is back and new baby Akira is 3 months plus old...he is also known as Super Baby accompanied by Super Mom Coco and Super Dad Robin, both glass blowers with us. I was thrilled to enter the Monday morning hot shop with Coco there before the furnace in signature pigtails and a whisper in her jeans post baby...so darling. We are overjoyed to have her back in our fold, she is elemental to glassybaby, a lovely fixture. Leaving, is Michelle (weep)...our treasured Hi Spot barrista and more. Michelle is ready to make her dreamed upon exodus to Walla Walla with her sweetheart. We are simultaneously devastated and excited. To explain... Michelle greets almost everyone of us at the Hi Spot every morning, our local coffee mill and auxiliary meeting place. Our quotidian joy is to exchange life details with her and update her on glassybaby. She always sends us on our way, usually with a Hi Spot ceramic mug, encanting the sweetest day wish, simply: "Have a great day." So, this magic in our day will be missed. However, it is completely exciting to have learned of Michelle's gravitational pull to Eastern Washington...then to have seen photos of the sweetest house on the planet on Michelle's I Phone as her purchase was pending in Walla Walla...and then to learn of the moving date... it has arrived. Godspeed to Michelle and Michelle. You sweetly touched the quality of our lives.
Comings and goings and anniversaries. A lovely customer named Judith arrive to us in Madrona and took time choosing a glassybaby. She discovered the depth and glow of grandma jane's caramel. It was her second installment of glasybaby carefully chosen to pair with her deep sea. She was treating herself to an anniversary glassybaby, celebrating her first year in Seattle. The beauty?...she is an x-ray technician in the medical field, currently working at Swedish Hospital. For Judy to learn that jane's caramel gives to those studying oncology nursing was perfect. Happy Anniversary in Seattle Judy.
Mark your calendar for Thursday September 17th...this will be our Grand Opening Extravaganza in Bellevue. We will host a hum dinger of a party to christen our Eastside presence. It is exciting to be across the lake. In honor of our giving legacy to cancer related causes...our Bellevue partners have been named. Both Overlake Hospital Cancer Center and The American Cancer Society's Eastside "Making Strides" event will benefit from glassybaby sales. To be specific...ten percent of all sales during the month of September will go directly to Overlake and ACS. The giving will grow...stay tuned. Join us on September 17th...we welcome you.
Fall is in the air and on the ground, wonderfully, as evidenced by the very green, prickly, too early, chestnut that I stumbled upon. It made me smile and want to light a fire or burn a candle. A changing glassybaby palette is on the way...for the changing season...gorgeous soon.
Until Next Time...Nicola
