I confess, I love reading cookbooks and glassybaby web orders...there is a kindred appeal within...a surprise is on the way in the form of either gastronomy or candlelight and color. Delightful. Three orders came to us this week with wedding bells ringing. The first order, wedding gift, was a trio of halo, curry and warm gravy glassybaby...I love this mix, and in an evocative sense what marriage couldn't use a little spirituality (halo,) spice (curry,) comfort and cooking (warm gravy?)
Another 'tie the knot' gift went out this week with the sweetest message attached. With sharing blessings from the author...the message went like this:
"Congrats on your weddin'...um... first anniversary! We're just barely threading the needle on the "you have a year from the wedding" rule, but it's because we're flakes who had a new baby when you got hitched, not because we dig you guys any less! :-) Hope you're doing well. We received a set of these lights for our wedding and just love them- little taste of the Great NW for you."
Infinitely charming words sent with the hip combination of eggplant and grass glassybaby. Who can resist a message filled with exclamation points and anthropomorphized punctuation marks and references to friendship and babies and glassybaby and the Great Northwest...simply abundant.
Last wedding gift to describe...a grandmother shared in the order comments section that her cherished grand daughter will wed on August 14th. The grand mother will be giving the newlyweds the energetic and sublime red beauty of a single happiness glassybaby. Totally sweet. Our glassybaby wishes of happiness are sent to all of the newlyweds in all of the land. And thanks to all who choose to celebrate wedding with glassybaby.
End note and honorable mention. We have launched a meaningful giving pair of glassybaby. The set is called "Sisterhood." It is available through the holidays. Have a look at this beautiful, sororal, giving pair and join us in supporting Seattle Cancer Care Alliance:
