There's a nice shot of glassybaby in the July issue of House & Garden magazine - page 36, to be exact! Senior Style Editor Melissa Feldman included our votives in a two page spread on outdoor entertaining.
We survived the seconds sale! It was to begin at 10 a.m. sharp. At 9
a.m., a 'string of pearls' - our loyal glassybaby customers - had begun to line
the NE 72nd block (and it was a big block.). We had a fantastic day. After
customers dutifully waited in the labyrinthine line, they arrived at the front
of the line with smiles and last minute choices. We so appreciate the sweet,
understanding of our wonderful customers that day. We hope you love your 'seconds'...they
have amazing personality.
Onto customer tidbits. A gentleman came in last week and through our
chatting I learned that he has been married for 45 years. He and his wife have
11 marvelous grown children. Before they set out on a three month sojourn to Alaska in their RV, he
will hide the glassybaby he bought his wife as a surprise birthday present,
somewhere in the RV. The color he chose, was of course, True Love. More soon.
One of our wonderful customers...Nancy Anderson...celebrated her 50th
birthday surrounded by the things she loves most.... her family and friends,
artwork by Martino Hoss, and 50 glassybaby. She graciously shared her photos
Hello, welcome to our glassybaby blog.
My name is Nicola, the glassyblog scribe. If you've ever been to our Green Lake store in Seattle, I'm also the 'shop girl.' Can you believe we have a blog? We even have a bar code system, but, rest assured, our glassybaby gift certificates are still handmade with rubber cement, scissors, stickers and xerography.
This blog will be a kind of glassybaby journal to convey the latest glassybaby news to you. It will be a pleasure to share some charming anecodotes from life here at glassybaby...stories that bring us laughter and sometimes tears.
In fact, just last week a customer came in and took time to find the right color...Deep Sea. As we chatted, her excitement about the gift was visceral...it was a wedding gift for her 86 year old father who was to be married the following day.
It's stories like these that we love to hear.
So, send us your stories and post us if you have any glassybaby thoughts. We welcome the dialogue. Who knows? You might be our next entry. Also, send us your glassybaby photos. We love to see how glassybaby are lighting up your world.
Thank you so much for visiting our blog. There will be more to come.
